Joe Boyle

Joe brings his passion for personal health to his health and safety training for learners from all sectors. His background in health coaching and as a fitness instructor, combined with his National Certificate in Adult Education, ensures he connects with learners at a practical level. Joe’s main role is as the Learning Experience Manager looking of the Health and Safety Portfolio for the EMA, while also managing to facilitate the Health and Safety Webinars available from EMA Learning.

Karyn Davis

Karyn consciously cultivates environments that create the opportunity to grow, expand and re-learn. She works with business leaders and their people drive performance and positive behaviour that benefits them in the work and personal lives. Karyn has owned and run many businesses and been a business coach for more than 15 years, and she combines this knowledge and experience with her expertise in human development. Karyn’s style is supportive, stimulating and focuses on achieving and embedding long-lasting learning and change, aligned with values.

Keith Robinson

Keith is focused on creating sustainable, people-focused changes to improve the efficiency of organisations and the effectiveness of people. Health and safety work in the supply chain sector – manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics – is where he is happiest, but he brings his wealth of experiences in diverse industries across the world to EMA member businesses in Auckland and his facilitating. He gets satisfaction from providing full circle support from Health and Safety reviews to templates and training to ensure compliance and sustainable practices and processes into the future.

Kevin Chambers

An educator for more than 35 years, Kevin is dedicated to unleashing people’s unlimited potential. A life-long learner himself, he has delivered and managed training in leadership and management, human resources, health and safety, and adult education. Kevin relishes sharing his knowledge, particularly with learners who wish to gain qualifications or learn how to pass their knowledge and skills onto others, which ensures a continuous stream of experts helping others to develop new skills.

Matthew Reeves

Matt has translated his more than 10 years of Employment Relations and Human Resources experience across public and private sectors to training in ER and leadership. A data-lover, Matt knows in the ins and outs of HR systems and metrics, as well as workforce planning and union bargaining, and how the two connect. He happily uses his unique skill set to share practical knowledge with learners.

 

 

Mericia Waqanimaravu

Mericia is an experienced business operator, manager, and trainer. With a passion for customer service, she specialises in staff training, business development and assisting businesses to manage profitability while ensuring quality. Mericia’s background includes extensive business experience in the corporate and private sector, where she has held general and senior management roles, and she has been an SME owner herself. Learners benefit from Mericia’s experience in and knowledge of all aspects of industries as diverse as tourism and hospitality to fisheries and agriculture, as well as her supreme communication skills.

Mike Peterson

Mike is an avid reader and prides himself on keeping up with the smallest changes to every act or piece of legislation to make sure he’s empowering people with the right knowledge. An adult educator for 37 years, he brings learning to life by injecting his own diverse life experience in industries from telecommunications to mining, human resources, senior management, and union organisation. Mike considers how people in every training session will learn best and uses subject-relevant storytelling to engage them and impart knowledge, not just information.

Myriam Heynen

Coming from generalist Human Resource Management roles in the manufacturing, banking and service sectors in New Zealand and Australia, Myriam brings over 30 years of HR experience to the training room. Her goal is to improve understanding of and compliance with legislation when undertaking the range of processes used in employment: from recruitment and performance management to discipline or restructuring to achieve any change required by the organisation's leaders. Ultimately it's about helping employers roll out best practice people management techniques in their business.

Peter Simunovich

Peter imparts his passion for public and psychosocial workplace mental health through his health and safety training. As well as using his training skills for the EMA, Peter teaches human sciences and lectures in public health at universities and polytechnics across Auckland. Peter expanded on his career in occupational health and safety, particularly providing injury prevention training and exercise-based rehabilitation, into neuroscience-based mental health and wellbeing initiatives.

Robin Duthie

Robin often works with boards and leadership teams to assist in the implementation of effective health and safety reviews, development of health and safety management systems and programmes and training. He brings his experience of advising organisations across a wide range of industries including, education, agriculture, energy, construction, manufacturing and corporate to his health and safety training for EMA learners. He is Head of Safety and Wellbeing and Public Trust, and previously during his role at Fonterra, Robin was National Health and Safety Manager for distribution, mines and farms.
