Holidays Act Forum with Hon Brooke van Velden
An exclusive forum for EMA Members
Description
The long-awaited Holidays Act reforms have arrived, and EMA Members have an opportunity to get the inside track on pending legislation.
Join us on Tuesday, 23 September for an exclusive high-level briefing with Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety Brooke van Velden, and officials from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.
This event is your chance to see the proposed calculations for holiday pay and leave entitlements, then to test them in your workplace and prepare a submission on the results. These reforms have been in development for several years, with a focus on addressing complexities and uncertainties that have long been a source of frustration for both employers and employees. The reformed Holidays Act will affect every employer in the country, with key changes including:
- Holiday pay calculations
- Paid parental leave
- Leave calculation periods
- Sick leave for part-time workers
- Bereavement leave
This is a once-in-a-generation chance to fix this crucial piece of employment law and your input is critical to making sure it is fit for purpose.
The event will include Q&A with the Minister and her officials as well as time for networking. Please note: media will be present.
