EMA Member Briefings: Winter 2025

We're delighted to launch our next series kicking off in July, with our Advocacy and Legal teams joining you from Taupō to Kerikeri.

Description

In our 2024 research, you told us loud and clear that EMA Members value our Briefing series and connecting with each other. In February of this year, you confirmed it with record numbers attending our regional summer Member Briefings.

We're delighted to launch our next series kicking off in July, with our Advocacy and Legal teams joining you from Taupō to Kerikeri. As well as hearing the latest economic, legislative, and employment law updates, these events are a great opportunity to network with and learn from other employers and people leaders in your region.

Here's what we'll cover in this round:

  • An update on the progress of key pieces of legislation for Members - the Holidays Act, new health and safety legislation, and the direction and timing for the replacement Resource Managment Act
  • Any flow-on effects for business from the May Budget announcement
  • The current state of the economy, our economic forecast, and the impact of tariffs in the international trade environment
  • What's happening in the vocational education and training sector, including the apprenticeship and trainee system
  • The latest employment law updates and case studies

Spaces are strictly limited and we often reach capacity at each venue, so book now and reserve your spot at your nearest Member-only event.

Registering for EMA events:
In our updated system, everyone needs to create a new profile, even if you’ve attended events with us before. This two-minute process means you can register for any EMA events and courses, and access our resource library. Simply, when you click Register for this event, proceed through the “Sign up now” option, then follow the instructions on the page. Any issues? Try out FAQ page: https://learn.ema.co.nz/w/support/ or email events@ema.co.nz or your EMA Membership Manager and we’ll get you sorted.
