Dr. Mike Hopkins - Carbon and Energy Professionals New Zealand (CEP), who will discuss the types, standards, and qualifications of energy audits in manufacturing.

Mike has been CEO at CEP for eight years. His background includes periods as a strategy consultant, financial transaction processing consultant (both London) and a lecturer in finance in Sydney. CEP is the professional body for energy efficiency and carbon management professionals. Alongside many other activities, CEP provides a searchable database of energy efficiency experts, including accredited energy auditors.

 

Dr. Cameron Stanley - DETA, will cover how to prepare for audits, leverage AI and technology, and share real-world examples.

Cameron is a Senior Engineer at DETA Consulting and specialises in industrial energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects. He has more than 15 years’ experience in engineering research and consulting in the energy efficiency and clean energy sectors. Prior to joining DETA in 2022 Cameron was a lecturer in energy efficiency and demand management at RMIT University in Melbourne.

 

Paul Bull - Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority (EECA), will provide insights into regulatory EECA support for energy audits, opportunities, and advice for businesses.

Paul has spent a large portion of his career in energy sector, starting with 18 years working for a multi-national fuel company (Caltex) in wide variety of roles, from Finance & Accounting to Retail (service station) and Lubricants. Having also been at a large NZ energy generator and retailer (Contact Energy) in both a Key accounts and Regional Sales Manager role, with wide portfolio of Electricity, Natural Gas & LPG customers. This has provided experience and exposure to lead and driving EECA’s direct engagement programme in several guises over the last 10 ½ years, including Technology Demonstration Fund, Low emission vehicle fund and Carbon Neutral Government programme (including State Sector Decarbonisation fund). This gets him out of bed knowing he can help make a difference.
