EMA Waikato Member-Exclusive Forum: Hon Todd McClay, Minister for Trade and Investment

The EMA is pleased to have secured an opportunity for our Waikato Members to hear from Minister of Trade and Investment, Todd McClay in Hamilton on 27 March.

Description

The EMA is pleased to have secured an opportunity for our Waikato Members to hear from Minister of Trade and Investment, Todd McClay in Hamilton on 27 March.

Trade and export growth are a key part of the government's growth agenda and Minister McClay has been one of the busiest Ministers, securing new trade agreements in new markets, and shoring up relationships in existing markets, in what continues to be a difficult period for international trade relationships.

The government's growth agenda includes doubling exports in the next 10 years while also encouraging new investment in infrastructure, opening doors for overseas investment, and establishing Invest New Zealand, a new gateway for international investors to be managed through NZTE. The Minister was also part of the high-profile Investment Summit this month, designed to help kick-start our infrastructure investment programme.

You'll hear what initiatives like recent new trade agreements with the EU, UAE, and other Arab states mean for exporters, and what the likely impact is of ongoing trade agreements, particularly in the face of current tariff-based trade wars.

There is much for the Minister to discuss, and Waikato Members may well be interested in his Agriculture portfolio and the impacts of international events on our key agricultural markets. This breakfast session is a great opportunity to give feedback and ask questions, with strictly limited places. We look forward to seeing you there.

When: Thu 27 March 2025
Time: 8.30am arrival with tea and coffee for a 9am presentation start
Where: Park Central, Waikato Innovation Park Hamilton
