EMA Member Exclusive Session with Hon. Brooke van Velden

We are delighted to invite you to hear from Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety, Hon Brooke van Velden

Description

The EMA is delighted to invite you to hear from Hon. Brooke van Velden, Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety, Minister for Internal Affairs, and Deputy Leader of ACT New Zealand at the EMA on 13 September.

With substantial consultation underway on the current work health and safety systems, potential updates on reducing ambiguity around the definition of contractors, and significant change targeted at the Holidays Act 2003, this is an ideal time to engage with the Minister and hear directly about the Government's priorities for key legislation affecting employers.

The Government has signalled changes to health and safety that are clear, sensible, proportionate and provide specific industry guidance. For employers, changes to the Holidays Act are certain to impact payrolls and contracts for many of their workers.

In this Member-exclusive breakfast session, the Minister will address her plans and progress to date on these crucial pieces of workplace legislation. This is your chance to provide feedback to the Minister and have your questions answered.

Numbers are strictly limited. Light refreshments will be provided along with time for Q&A and networking. This is an event not to be missed, particularly if you want to have your voice heard on legislation that is certain to have an impact on your business.
