Risk management is the cornerstone of health and safety best practice. On this course, you’ll discover how to assess critical risks and apply risk management techniques that are relevant to your business. This will ensure effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, from company directors, officers and managers to supervisors, workers, contractors.
From office-based to heavy industrial, this course has value for all types of business. It is designed especially for those involved in Health & Safety systems and management. Including business owners, leaders and directors required to meet their due diligence duties under the HSW Act.
The identification and management of risks is a key concept of good health and safety management. The Health and Safety Act (HSWA) 2015 places a duty to eliminate or minimise the risks to workers so far as is reasonably practical, and effective risk management supports this process. You will learn to understand the potential for significant injury, illness, or fatality and the need to focus on those risks which could cause the greatest harm to workers (“critical risks”) and the need to provide a safer work environment for everyone.
