Introduction to NZ Privacy Act (Part 1)

An introduction to one of the most important New Zealand laws. Familiarse yourself with what and why the NZ Privacy Act 2020 is, and your legal requirements around it. Part 1 will cover:

  • Understand the legal requirements for the collection, storage, and use of personal information.
  • Apply correct processes and procedures to ensure the safety and security of personal data.
  • Ensure the legal rights of your staff and clients are protected when handling personal information.
  • Identify methods to protect the personal information gathered from illegal activity or misuse.

 

The NZ Privacy Act 2020 - Information Privacy Principles (Part 2)

Currently there are 12 Information Privacy Principles (IPPs) within the Act and they cover collection, use, disclosure and storage of information. Under the new Act there will be one new IPP and five existing IPPs will change. Be informed by gaining an understanding of all IPP’s with this online module. Part 2 will help your staff to familiarise themselves with the legal requirements of handling the private information of your customers and clients with the NZ Privacy Act 2020 - 13 Information Privacy Principles (IPP’s) course. This course has been created for all staff members, so they have everything they need in one place to learn and refer back to on one of the most important New Zealand laws. The NZ Privacy Act (2020) - Actions to Protect your Business (Part 3)

 A very important change for New Zealand businesses is giving notification of privacy breaches. If you experience a breach, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s notifiable. Find out more, as well as how to prevent privacy breaches with this online module. Part 3 will help your staff to familiarise themselves with the legal requirements of handling the private information of your customers and clients and mandatory data breach reporting in the Actions to Protect your business module. This module has been created for all staff members so they have everything they need to identify a privacy breach and the steps to take if this has happened. It is designed to compliment our Introduction to NZ Privacy Act module. This easy to follow module walks them through:

  • Identifying a privacy breach.
  • Actions to take if a privacy breach has happened.
  • The consequences to the business.
  • How to prevent future risks.
